About

Pilates is a movement technique that strengthens all the muscles in the body evenly to achieve balance.  It works all the tiny stabilizer muscles to support how the joints are moving.  It gives even musculature, and even range of movement of the joints for a long, lean, healthy body.

Sarah’s approach synthesizes over 15 years of teaching Pilates with over 25 years of training in Pilates to look at the body and person as a whole and address whatever pain, tightness, or muscular imbalance they have. She focuses on giving each person a session tailored to what their body needs that day (whether its a tough workout, a more therapeutic session, or a little of both).  She is interested in acting as a guide to help people find easeful, efficient ways of moving whether their goals are lifting heavy weights or playing with their grandkids. She is known for her warm, calming nature and attention to detail.  Her goal is to help all clients move through their lives joyfully and pain free.

Growing up in Moraga as a serious ballet student, Sarah has always been interested in the intricacies of movement and anatomy. She took her first Pilates class at age 11 and loved how it helped her with her ballet training. While attending the prestigious University of Arizona School of Dance, Sarah discovered the Fletcher Pilates work. Connecting with the detail of the Fletcher style and seeing how it helped her through a hip injury (pre and post surgery), she decided to go through the Fletcher Pilates Comprehensive Program.

After completing her Pilates program and BFA in dance in 2009, Sarah taught and danced a few years back home in the Bay Area. She then moved to NYC where she deepened her knowledge and honed her skills while working at various studios including Erika Bloom Pilates Plus. She studied scoliosis protocols, pre and post natal, neuro disorders and gait training with NYC master teachers including Irene Dowd, Kuan Hui Chew and Madeline Black.
